Zimory, headquartered in Berlin, Germany, announced today the acquisition of a NoSQL database development team from Sones GmbH i.L., to further strengthen and support Zimory’s elastic, Cloud Management product; zimory®scale. Zimory has been developing cloud computing software since 2007. The Sones teams’ proficiency in graph database management systems will prove to be a strategic asset to Zimory’s future research and development. Their expertise will enable zimory®scale to offer a broader support of satellite databases and other unique features based on continued innovation.

Enterprises using large database deployments are under enormous pressure to reduce costs and be free from vendor-lock-in. zimory®scale solves these problems with an open and flexible platform that enables real-time load adjustments of relational database systems. The master and satellite system offers on demand elasticity and scalability of dynamic applications across heterogeneous environments. The Sones database was developed using an open source and modular approach, which aligns with Zimory’s flexible and agile platform.

zimory®scale’s new Division Manager Jochen Witte said, “We are excited about the Sones team joining Zimory as it will enable Enterprises to improve the support of fluctuating workloads. zimory®scale will provide new levels of performance scalability at a fraction of the costs of existing solutions, whilst protecting customer data and their integrity.”
